性格表現の基本型
誰かの性格を説明するとき、どう言えばいいでしょう？
- 性格の特徴を表すキーワードを知っていれば、簡潔に表現できます。
- キーワードを知らなくても、既知の単語を使って表現します。
- 「誰々に似ている」とたとえてみます。
ここでは、性格の特徴を表す単語を使った表現を見ていきます。いくつかのパターンがあります。
He is honest.
訳 彼は正直です。
be動詞+形容詞で性格を表せます。
He is an idealist.
訳 彼は理想主義者です。
be動詞+名詞でも表せます。
He is always finding fault with others.

動詞で表せます。always を伴うことも多いです。
She has a serene disposition.

have a ～ disposition で「～な性格です」。disposition は「気質・性質」。

ネガティブな性格を表現するとき、通常は相手を傷つけないソフトな言い方をします。

この enough to は「～するのに足りるほど～だ」の意味。

素直で優しい性格
正直で素直、あるいは親切で優しい性質を表現します。
例文にあげたもの以外にも、warm（温かい）, thoughtful（思慮深い）, innocent（無邪気な）, faithful（忠実な）などの単語もあります。

訳 安心した。あなたは素直で優しく見えます。
