聞き間違えやすい同音異義語
同音異義語とは何でしょうか？
同音異義語（homophone）とは、発音が同じでも綴りや意味が異なる言葉のことです。
a word that is pronounced the same as another word but has a different meaning or spelling, or both:

同音異義語は、英語にもたくさんあります。
リスニングで音声だけ聞いていると、別の語と聞き間違えることがあります。
ちなみに、 close のように綴りが同じでも、「近い」「閉じる」と異なる意味を持つ単語もあります。
この場合それぞれで発音も変わります。これを同形異義語（homograph）といいます。
