風景単語の使い分け
自然に関する語彙を知っていますか？
まず、風景を表す単語のニュアンスの違いを理解します。

ちなみに、「夜景」と言うときは、ふつうは night view です。
「雪景色」は、ふつう snowy landscape になります。

風景の良さを語る方法
よく使える言い方
The fog cleared and I could see stunning scenery.
訳 霧が晴れ、素晴らしい景色が見えました。
What a view! It’s out of this world. I’m so glad to be here.
訳 なんて素晴らしい眺め! この世のものではありません！来れて本当に嬉しい。
out of this world は「この世のものとは思えない」「素晴らしい」の意味。
I love the spectacular beauty of the ocean in front of me.
訳 目の前に広がる海の壮大な美しさが好きです。
spectacle は「美観」「壮観」の意味です。
情景を描写する
This bright and beautiful trail goes as far as 20 kilometers.
訳 この明るくて美しい道は20キロもあります。
He invited us to his vast cornfield, which is known for the film.
訳 映画で知られている彼の広大なトウモロコシ畑に、彼は私たちを招待しました。
The animals you’ll see on the ranch have an idyllic atmosphere.
訳 あなたがこれから見る牧場の動物たちはのどかな雰囲気です。
idyllic は「牧歌的な」。
You can see many stars at the hill as if your eyesight has improved.
訳 まるで視力が向上したかのように、丘ではたくさんの星が見える。
このように比喩を使う方法もありますね。
表現できない美
The colors of the sunset which I saw in the desert were breathtaking.
訳 砂漠で見た夕日の色は息を呑むほどでした。
The wild flowers made an impact on me. They defied all description.
訳 野生の花は私に衝撃を与えた。それらは言葉では表現できない。
山の場面
山を眺める
I can see a rocky mountain with clouds over there.
訳 あそこに雲がかかった岩山が見えます。
The beauty of the snow-capped peak was beyond description.
訳 雪をかぶった山頂の美しさは、言い表せませんでした。
If we are lucky, we can see the shape of a mountain in the distance.

山を歩く
I looked down on the valley from the suspension bridge.

two-arched bridge だと、「眼鏡橋」になります。
We stepped across a stream and headed for the mountain hut.

訳 肌の感じで、山脈から風が吹いているのを感じました。
山の植物
Alpine plants are in full bloom on the hillside.
訳 山腹には高山植物が満開です。
She said that those wild vegetables were edible.
訳 彼女はそれらの山菜は食用であると言った。
山からの眺め
She saw a magnificent view from the viewing platform.
訳 彼女は展望台から壮大な景色を見た。
The sun rose majestically above the sea of clouds before us.
訳 太陽が目の前の雲海の上に雄大に昇った。
majestically は「雄大に」「荘厳に」。
川や森の場面
水辺で過ごす

Hearing the sound of the waterfall makes them calm.
訳 滝の音が聞こえると彼らは落ち着きます。
The fishermen went upstream and it became so quiet.

水辺の景色
The mountain left a reflection on the surface of the lake.
訳 山が湖面に映り込んだ。
She shot a few boats against the backdrop of a swamp.

川の動物
There is a rare bird on the opposite side of the riverbank.
訳 川岸の反対側に珍鳥がいますよ。
The water is transparent and I can see the river fishes.
訳 水は透明で、川魚が見えます。
動物などの自然の生息地は natural habitat といいます。
森林
This is an area where many big trees grow thickly.
訳 ここは大きな木がたくさん生えているエリアです。
密集した状態は thick で表せます。霧が濃い場合も thick です。
The huge lake is surrounded by a natural forest.
訳 巨大な湖は自然の森に囲まれています。
海の場面
海の景色
I sat on a beach and watched waves beating the shore.
訳 私はビーチに座って、波が海岸を打っているのを見ました。
We enjoyed the scenery of a lagoon connected with the sea.
訳 海につながる潟の景色を楽しみました。
I like the contrast between the breakwater and the ocean.
訳 防波堤と海のコントラストがいい。
「消波ブロック」は tetrapod です。
海の動植物
The guide recommended a coral reef off the eastern coast.
訳 ガイドは東海岸沖のサンゴ礁を勧めました。
I saw tropical fishes through the window at the bottom.
訳 底の窓から、熱帯魚を見ました。
There are colorful seashells on the sandy beach.

全国通訳案内士とは
外国人の日本旅行につき添って、案内をする国家資格。
それは、全国通訳案内士です。
仕事内容は、「報酬を得て、通訳案内を業とする」と規定されています。
通訳案内とは、外国人につき添い、外国語で旅行の案内をすることです。
国家試験に合格するためには、外国語能力と観光知識が必要です。
英検は1級、TOEICは900点以上の保持者は英語科目の免除対象になります。（2020年現在）

ちなみに、 majesty は「威厳」や「陛下」を表します。
