PDCAサイクルとは
PDCAサイクルとは、何でしょう？
計画を立てる⇒業務を実行する⇒結果を評価する⇒改善する⇒また計画に戻る
このような繰り返しの過程です。
意識せずとも、仕事を行ううえで多くの人が自然に行うプロセスです。
この過程に沿って仕事を進めることを「PDCAを回す」といいます。
それぞれの4段階を意識して仕事を進めます。
すると、業務が明確になり、効率性の改善が期待できます。
ウォルター・シューハートとエドワース・デミングという人が提唱しました。
その表現を学ぶ意義
今回は、PDCAを表現する英語を例文で示します。
ビジネスの活動で頻出する言い回しです。
TOEICのレベルで700ぐらいの語彙を集めました。

計画（Plan）
plan
We are making a plan for the construction of a new bridge.
訳 私たちは新しい橋の建設の計画を立てています。
There may be a slight change of plan because of the rain.
訳 雨のため、少し計画の変更があるかもしれない。
The recession caused them to review their business plan.
訳 不景気なので、彼らは事業計画の見直しをした。

goal

organize
He is in charge of organizing charity events in a school.

ahead of schedule
May I ask you to ship furniture ahead of schedule?
訳 家具を予定より早く発送してもらえますか？
「予定より遅れて」は behind schedule 。
実行（Do）
act
As long as the motivation is there, don’t hesitate to act.
訳 やる気がある限り、ためらわずに行動を起こそう。
carry out
Carry out your plan immediately or you can’t achieve a goal.
訳 計画をすぐに実行しないと、目標を達成できません。
put into practice
We have prepared. Now is the time to put that into practice.
訳 私たちは準備しました。今こそ、それを実行に移す時です。
put in action も「実行に移す」の意味。
make efforts
Keep making efforts and go through difficulties at any cost.
訳 努力を積み重ね、どんな犠牲を払っても困難を乗り越えなさい。
continue
He continued to study in order to develop the new medicine.
訳 彼は新薬を開発するため、研究を続けた。
under construction
I’m not working there. The city hall is now under construction.
訳 私は今そこでは働いていません。市役所は現在建設中です。
complete
We worked together on this task and almost completed it.
訳 我々はこの仕事に関して協力し、ほぼ完了しました。

postpone

評価（Check）

revise
Please send the department the revised version by Friday.
訳 金曜日までにその部署に改訂版を送ってください。

take measures
We had to take measures to prevent such big troubles.
訳 私たちはそんな大きなトラブルを防ぐために、対策を講じなければならなかった。
take steps も「対策を施す」の意味で使えます。
adjust one’s plans
To meet customer’s needs, we had to adjust our plans.
訳 お客様のニーズを満たすために、私たちは計画を調整しなければならなかった。
reconsider the plan
It say that we have no choice but to reconsider the plan.
訳 それが示すところによれば、私たちは計画を見直すしかない。
the improvement plans
