乗車や乗り換え
「電車に乗る」「通勤する」「乗り換える」の言い方です。
電車に乗る
My car was broken down, so I got on a train.
訳 車が故障したので電車に乗りました。
get on a train と表現します。
「車に乗る」は get in a car 。on と in のイメージの違いをつかんでください。
通勤・通学をする
He commutes a long distance every day.
訳 彼は毎日、長距離通勤している。
「通勤・通学をする」は commute 。
乗り換えをする
How many times did you transfer/change lines?
訳 何回乗り換えましたか？
「乗り換え」は transfer や change lines（trains）。
電車の種類
上り・下り電車
Is this an inbound train to Tokyo?
訳 これは東京行きの上り列車ですか？
「下りの」は outbound 。
始発
I definitely want to catch the first train bound for Ueno.
訳 上野行きの始発に絶対乗りたいです。
急行
The express train does not stop at that station.
訳 急行列車はその駅に停車しません。
- 各駅停車は local train
- 特急は limited express train
- 急行は express train
- 快速は rapid train
回送
The coming train will be out of service. Let’s go to that platform.
訳 来る列車は回送になります。あのホームに行きましょう。
路面電車
You need to take a streetcar/trolley/tram to get there.
訳 そこに着くには、路面電車に乗る必要があります。
時刻・時間
時刻表
He looked closely at the timetable/train schedule.
訳 彼は時刻表を注意深く見ました。
The train leaves at 10:25 a.m.
訳 電車は午前10時25分に出発します。
遅延
The train conductor announced that the next train would be delayed.
訳 車掌は、次の電車が遅れるとアナウンスした。
終電
Fortunately, he was in time for the last train.
訳 幸いなことに、彼は終電に間に合った。
時間通りに来る
I was amazed that the train came on time.
訳 電車が時間通りに来たことに驚いた。

満員電車
I left my umbrella on a rush-hour train.

満員電車は packed train とも言えます。

I don’t have enough money for the train fare.
訳 電車の運賃に足りる十分なお金がありません。
事故の発生

訳 踏切で軽傷の事故が発生しました。
