An Elderly Person Got There Too Early
I went to the dentist for a treatment.
Actually, I had an appointment a week before.
But because something urgent had come up, I rescheduled it for the next week.
I entered the dentist’s about eight minutes before the appointed time.
I put my patient ID card and my insurance card on a clinic counter.
There were a few patients including me in a waiting room.
My treatment began soon. It was hardly painful, but I felt nervous.
I don’t like going to the dentist very much. I got through it and relieved.
When I was waiting to pay on the counter, an elderly man came in from the front door.
It seemed that the man came more than one hour earlier than arranged.
He was told by a receptionist that he had to stay for a long time to wait for his turn.
I imagined that the receptionist might be stuck in front of such a patient, but because he was an elderly person it can’t have been helped.
If his house was near the dentist’s, he may have come back again.
But it may be troublesome for an elderly person.

高齢者がかなり早く来た
治療のため歯医者さんに行ってきました。
じつは一週間前に予約をしていました。
しかし、急な用事が入り次の週に変更しました。
私は予約時間の８分前くらいに歯医者に入りました。
診察券と保険証を、診療所のカウンターに置きました。
待合室には私を含めて数人の患者さんがいました。
すぐに私の治療が始まりました。痛みはほとんどなかったですが、緊張しました。

そんな患者さんを前に、受付の人の困惑を想像しましたが、高齢者なので仕方がないです。
彼の家が歯医者の近くなら、また出直したかもしれません。
