I’ll Restart My History Studies

Recently I’ve started studying world history.
It’s been a long time since I last studied it.
Why did I get interested in world history again?
One reason is that knowing the societies and cultures of various nations is important.
I’ve come to have more opportunities to meet people from overseas than before.
I need to have enough knowledge of other nations in order to understand them.
I used to study world history to pass the entrance examination of a university
when I was a high school student.
In those days I was overwhelmed because I was forced to memorize
a huge amount of knowledge such as the names of persons, countries and incidents.
But this time I changed my learning style in a big way.
First, I decided to put weight on understanding the story and the structure
of historical incidents rather than memorizing a lot of information.
Second, I’ll pick out only a particular era. I won’t study all history.
In this way I will be able to keep learning history while having fun.
